Food is decent as usual for a Cracker Barrel, but the service was poor. Waiter paid us little attention, never brought bread/rolls, and got part of order wrong. Dissapointing.
Dumplings on plate with fried okra instead of separate in bowl, dumplings were under cooked, gummy and dry, no soup... After taking our order... Waitress brought our meal and our meal ticket at the same, telling us she would not leave us unattended...didn't see her again, until after manager came to our table to check on us!!! First time to visit their new store at New Albany and had been hearing about how good it was, and looking forward to our visit... I'M SURE we caught them on a Bad day, (we all have them) ... The Management was very polite and gracious, taking my wife's order of dumplings, and bringing her order back personally to our table, in a Bowl, Cooked Completely Done and with Plenty of Soup!!! We will be back through to check them out again... ☺
Unpredictable service, good food. My daughter asked to eat at Cracker Barrel and we happily obliged since it has been quite a few years since we had eaten here. Our service was EXCELLENT and the food was delicious. Fast forward to a couple of weeks later and we take my MIL here for lunch. The waitress was terrible ! The personality of a rock and did not seem happy to be working there. When I inquired about what the soup of the day was her response was, " I have no idea." Really?! ... Needless to say I asked the manager for a new server and he did so. So thank you for that.
I gave two stars for the food because it’s always amazing. However the service was not. We went on Sunday after church and as usual Cracker Barrel was slammed busy. We knew we would not get fast service so we weren’t expecting it. However after we get seated we waited for about 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. This would not have been a big deal if the person who took our drink order said that they couldn’t find our waitress. Then our waitress came out and took our order. She asked if we wanted our fixins our before or with the meal and we said before. She then disappeared for another 10 minutes. She came out and told us that they were making more biscuits and that she would have them out when they were done. So she disappears for another 20 minutes (this is all time stamped on the receipt). We keep seeing other people getting biscuits around us and the other wait staff were refilling our drinks because our waitress was MIA. Finally she brings out the food and leaves before I could tell her that there was a mistake on the plate. So another waitress came by and asked how everything was and we told her that there was a mistake and she asked who our waitress was so she could get her. Our waitress brought out the correct order and then disappeared again. We waited to get our check and by this time the general manager had come out. She saw that we had empty plates and that we were looking around for our waitress. So the manager went to find our waitress who walked by and set the check down before we could even speak. Now I want to point something out here because this is an online review and everyone assumes that it’s exaggerated. We never once stopped anyone to get refills and we never spoke to the manager. We were not rude nor were we demanding in any way. We went in trying to be extremely patient because we knew that it was a busy time. But this experience exceeded the patience level we had. I’m not going to say we will never come back to this Cracker Barrel because that’s probably not true. However when we do return we will make sure to get a different waitress.
Cod dish was overcooked and the service took a very long time. Will probably not be returning to this location until things improve. Server was very nice and apologetic for the lengthy wait times. So, that was better than not caring at all.
