Great stay! 5 star sleep very well! Breakfast was excellent. Employees very friendly and helpful.
So, it is a bit difficult at first to get to if you're not familiar with the area as others have pointed out. They tend to get lax with the coffee at night. 3 times in the 2 weeks i've been here its cold at 7 pm. not warm.. cold. Housekeeping is not much to speak of, honestly. bed sheets haven't been changed in a week. I'm ripping them off in the morning and putting them in the hallway. I know because i mark them with water soluble marker. Having only the desk to eat dinner on at the end of the day, crumbs tend to hit the floor. well, after 5 days ALOT of crumbs are very visible on the floor. Do they not own a vacuum? And when did taking bagged trash out of the room not fall under "housekeeping" ? I went to the hotel "mini mart" to buy a couple drinks. 2 gatorades and 2- 12oz. sodas.. $11.00. huh?? So to the gas station next time where it will be 6.50. Their fitness room is ok at best.. electrical tape wrapped around the handles of the elliptical to hold them together, makes for a sticky workout ride so that is a pass. I return to New Albany next week again for work. I will be staying at the competition across the way this time around.
I expect more from a Hilton property, especially when they are charging double the room rate as compared to other newly renovated properties in town. Service was barely mediocre (I usually had to stand in a line of other complaining customers to ask a question since no one answered the phone). I guess they can treat people like that when they are the only pet-friendly hotel in a 30mi radius.
Not a bad Hampton at all. Friendly staff and mostly quiet. Unlike the nearby Oxford locations, this one provides manager's receptions (free food and soda/beer) Mondays-Wednesdays. An older bulding but recently renovated. My only issue is the TV's are a little small and it's not the easiest hotel to figure out how to get to... Seriously Hilton/Hampton, a small lighted sign off the nearest surface street would go a LONG way for this location. I drove past the "street" 3 times before I saw it the first time I stayed here.
Great location! Staff is friendly and helpful. I stay at this location frequently and the staff always calls me by name. They genuinely care for their guests!
