I came to this ENT clinic due to symptoms of decreased hearing and possible impaction. The doctor came in and looked at my ear and said I had a thin layer of film covering my ear drum, so he sent his nurse in to clean it out. The nurse attempted multiple times to flush out the debris but with no luck. The doctor came in and looked in my ear again and asked if I felt any better and I said no. He proceeded to tell me that it should clear up once all the fluid as drained out and sent me on my way. He didn't bother to address my hearing loss (if it was related to the thin film covering my ear drum or not). Anyways I scheduled an appointment at ENT of Tupelo with a nurse practitioner ( I tried scheduling an appointment with a doctor there prior to going to new albany, but nothing was available for almost a month). The nurse practitioner actually went in himself and removed the dead skin, or more specifically "thin layer", covering my eardrum. I noticed immediate improvement after having it removed, but I still felt like I had some hearing loss. So, I had a hearing test done and found that I had high frequency hearing loss in my left ear and now has me scheduled for an MRI to try and pin point the contributing factor. Bottom line: Tupelo ENT > New Albany ENT.
