Upon arriving to this location, I was underwhelmed at the hours which the location was in operation and at the sight of the Confederate battle flag (or "Stars and Bars") situated on the bumpersticker which had been intentionally adhered to the bumper of a car in the parking lot. This disappointment overwhelmed me as a Washingtonian. For one—according to the owner of the store, the store has "been closed over a year". Having driven twenty-seven hours from Washington, D.C., U.S.A. to New Albany, MS, C.S.A. for this moment—to purchase antiques, I was devastated. Tear stains drenched my face, and horrible emotions weighed down my heart as I recollected the sight of the closed store and the faded "Stars and Bars" on the bumper of the car. Had the North not won so savagely, I may have been able to enjoy this moment of shopping.
